The first part of the book introduces a variety of challenges children might face (poverty, abuse, loneliness etc.). To steer away from making the topic too gloomy and daunting for young readers, I kept the overall colour palette rich and fairly bright. Each image depicting a challenge uses also soft, white outlines hinting how the challenge could possibly be overcome.
The second part of the book has a more optimistic, solution-oriented approach, which shows in more cheerful illustrations. Depicting children who one by one start helping each other overcome challenges, young readers are encouraged to see that every one of us can help make a difference.
